Weeping Rock is a wonderful little alcove where water continually drips from the surface of the sandstone. When water is absorbed into the sandstone above, it begins to travel downwards until it meets a non-porous surface. This forces the water to travel sideways until it finally exits the sandstone. The process is said to be exhausting, the water coming out of Weeping Rock is estimated to be nearly 1,000 years old.
